Looking for a Physio in Basingstoke?

In this post, we’re going to cover Physiotherapy in Basingstoke.

Physiotherapy is a form of treatment that improves the way your joints and muscles work. After receiving physio treatment, the patient can expect to feel more flexible, better range of movements, coordination and strength.

Physiotherapy can help people suffering from sports injuries, back pain,  reduced mobility, arthritis or recovering from surgery to name a few.

Many people only go to see a therapist once they have a sports injury, which is understandable. But, regular soft tissue manipulation is also a great injury prevention technique. So, rather than waste time on the treatment table once you’re already injured and having to go through a gruelling rehabilitation program. You can give yourself the chance of avoiding injury with regular treatment.

What to wear

Many people will be unsure of what type of clothing to wear when attending treatment for the first time. Loose clothing which allows for stretching is always the best option. This will allow the physiotherapist treating you the best range of movement you can achieve which will help with diagnosing the injury or problem.

Types of Treatment

Below is a list of the types of treatments you can expect from most Therapists:

  • Kinesiology Taping & strapping
  • Posture correction
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Dry Needling / Acupuncture

Does Physio Hurt?

This completely depends on the individual. Some people feel pain relief almost immediately with a better range of motion, improved flexibility and reduced stiffness.

On the other hand, some people feel soreness for a few days after manipulation. This especially occurs after the deep tissue massage as the area can become bruised. But this is nothing to worry about.

What about during the treatment?

Physiotherapist are people too, so constant feedback to them during the treatment will only give you a better experience.
